Literacy Skills

For the week of 12/14/09:

All students should be reading an AR book and take the appropriate quiz when finished. In-class on Monday and Friday we will have silent sustained reading (SSR). Students should be filling in their "in-class reading log" during this time. This log keeps track of what they are reading and how many pages they complete each day we have SSR/AR. When they take an AR test, they need to record this on the "student reading log". This log allows them to keep track of their AR points for the trimester.

Students are required to read 20-30 minutes per night at home. Three nights per week they need to complete a reflection on their weekend reading reflection log. Parents should sign this sheet after it is complete. It is due every Tuesday and worth 15 points.

Monday 12/14: SSR/AR.

Tuesday 12/15: Read "Brian's Song." No WRR due this week. Read over Winter Break.

Wednesday 12/16: Read "Brian's Song."

Thursday 12/17: Read "Brian's Song."

Friday 12/18: SSR/AR

Tuesday 12/15: Review homework. Answer questions #2 in science notebook. Prep for lab 11.3.

Thursday 12/17: Complete lab 11.3
